It is an artistic LED light installation that offers a visual and auditory experience, controlled by live sound and algorithms. Created by artist Erick Ruiz Lugo. The idea is inspired by the concept of traditional “castillos pirotécnicos” (pyrotechnic castles): a traditional light and sound spectacle. With this installation,The artist seeks to create a reflection in the viewer about our relationship with customs and traditions, which, like our society, constantly evolve and transform.
At the Edge of the Earth is a contemporary painting exhibition by artist Erick Ruiz Lugo that reflects about the transformations of the landscape and their impact on the experience of inhabiting a territory. Through sixteen works that move between memory, the transforming present, and the imaginary, the artist explores the territorial identity of the Tláhuac region, in the southeastern area of Mexico City, focusing particularly on the Sierra de Santa Catarina and the Tetlalmanche volcano, natural elements with a big historical and symbolic meaning.
This contemporary painting project consists of a series of works in various formats that explore transparency and the integration of graphic production languages such as stencil, screen printing, drawing, photography, and digital processes like image transfer. The project stems from research into image reproduction techniques that emerged in the 1970s, incorporating new technologies into both the process and materials. By combining graphic and pictorial elements (color, form, representation), the project seeks to expand the boundaries of contemporary painting, dissolving disciplinary limits and creating a more organic and complex visual language.
